Controller's Comments

Putting the controls people visited into PurplePen courses shows the following for the top 4.

• John Owens 480 points from 22 controls over 10.1km (inc 2mins of penalties)

• Ed Catmur 475 points from 24 controls over 11.6km (inc 3mins of penalties)

• Paul Nixon 470 points from 20 controls over 9.0km

• Nick Taylor 460 points from 21 controls over 9.3km

..... my reading of this is that John and especially Ed are fast runners but Paul and Nick are better route choosers!

Looking further down the results its good to see how varied the routes are and how close the spread of scores are. This shows the courses as planned were very well designed.

Organiser's Comments

A glorious evening for a run in Hyde Park and the first event in the 2010 London Park Race Series. And it was a new format, with a 2-sided map that you could turn over whenever you wish, but then not turn back. Almost everyone figured out this rule and there were only a couple penalised for punching out of order. The colour coding of the controls below shows where runners switched.

Apologies for the computer glitch which meant that splits on the evening were a bit weird. And because registration was pretty hurried we missed a couple of details – if your age class or club details are incorrect, please email me the correction.
