Paul Todd planned some excellent courses which required virtually no alteration . He also made a lot of good updates to the map. (It is surprising how quickly the vegetation and paths change on the Heath). I was unable to be present on the day, so thanks very much to Julie and Ronan Cleary for carrying out the on-the-day controlling.

With the Regional event at Hatfield attracting a lot of the usual competitors, we expected to have a reduced field today, however, with the City of London race the day before, quite a few chose to call in at Hampstead on their way home. If fact, the 191 competitors represented 36 clubs, from countries all over the world, from Scotland, Scandinavian, Hungary and all the way down to Australia - hope you all enjoyed this little wooded oasis in London.
The fantastic weather also seem to entice out a very young audience today, with 20% being under 18 years-old - for those of you who hadn’t orienteered before, we’re sure you’ll be back for more (check out the Events page at www.seoa.org.uk to see where you can run next). The only course we ran out of maps on was Orange - thank you to those who allowed us to recycle their maps.
As always, we are indebted to Paul Maskell and his team from the Corporation of London for both allowing us to run the event on the Heath and for maintaining such a wonderful amenity for Londoners and visitors.
We had no lost property handed in, but if you found a dibber whilst out running, we know who it belongs to …….
One runner on Green has no splits. For some reason (might be due to not being cleared?) they started 23 hours after 10:00, hence I had to manually calculate their finish time - despite the software having all the split times, it refuses to publish them - if this runner requires their split, please let me know.
Finally, don’t forget our next event is in the evening of 27th November, a Street O in London's West End (start approx 18.30) - check the LOK website nearer time for details.
